Access Information
So not everyone is going to reach the summit of Cader Idris using a hand bike like the amazing athlete in the photo above…. but we feel strongly that this beautiful environment should be accessible to people from many different back grounds and with different abilities. We do our best to ensure the comfort of all our guests and are happy to advise on accessibility.
We extend a warm welcome to all those who want to experience, enjoy and respect the special environment here. We are really happy to share our knowledge with first time campers or those new to mountain walking, give a helping hand to single parents arriving with kids, and look out for solo travellers returning from their adventures. So please don’t be afraid to ask!
Steep access to Mawddach Trail
Our cottages, touring van site and two quarry wagons are all on the level and there is a slight hill up a rough track to our yurts and shepherd’s hut. The track and field which leads down to the estuary via the lower tent camping fields is pretty steep in places – it’s approximately 600 metres from the touring site, cottages and glamping in the glade to the Mawddach Trail with a total ascent of 70m. Some people find it a struggle and most people find it gets their blood pumping a bit faster so please be aware of this!
