The sun shone over Snowdonia for the Easter holiday and suddenly loads of people appeared – kids on the beach, walkers on Cadair Idris, musicians in the pubs, and mountain bikers everywhere…Having seen little but builders and the odd buzzard since Janaury, it’s kind of strange for us at first as you watch the place taking on a different kind of energy with a site full of guests.It seemed a good way to mark the start of the season with a get together round a fire so we enlisted the skills of Heath from Firefox Bushcraft to lead a fire-making activity. Families staying here at Graig Wen had a go at starting safe fires using various bushcraft techniques. By the evening we had managed to make ourselves a brew on the fire and some people cooked up an elaborate campfire feast. I managed to incinerate my baked potatoes but couldn’t go far wrong with toasting the marshmallows
