Tent camping in Eryri / Snowdonia National Park
Our Snowdonia tent camping site opens from 1 May until the end of September.
If you have not visited our North Wales camps site before, here’s a little introduction.
Our camp site in Snowdonia National Park suits campers looking for a back to nature experience with camp fires and a few added luxuries. You’ll get a big grassy pitch with plenty of breathing space, birdsong and dark skies. There’s no electric hook ups for tents – we have a separate area of the site for camper vans.
We’re a quiet site (apart from the owls!). You can’t drive to most pitches so be prepared to use wheelbarrows or arrive in time for our off road lift service. There’s plenty of walks from site (including to a good pub) so you can forget about the car for a few days.
Pre-book your pitch and choose from:
- pitches with great views on our estuary field
- super secluded pitches
- pitches you can park next to
- pitches suitable for larger family tents
We chose to camp in the Estuary field where no cars are allowed and you’ve got truly great views across the Mawddach Estuary, spacious pitches each with a campfire spot and dark skies with stars that will leave you gawping. What a place to be! Got to be one of, if not, THE best spot we’ve pitched at.
This campsite is phenomenal!! We stayed in Saltings View pitch which has unbroken views of the beautiful estuary. Its the furthest pitch from the car park, but the views and seclusion are 100% the extra bit of trek with your kit – we felt like we were the only ones there even though the rest of the pitches were occupied.
Facilities
Our facilities reflect our back to nature camping style while still being kept super clean and cared for:
- 2 compost loos
- 3 hot showers
- Drinking Water taps
- Two Washing up sinks
We have further washing facilities on the camper van area of our site including conventional loos, wash basins and hot showers.
There is also access to:
- Freezer for ice-packs
- Phone charging
- Free wifi and 4G (except for 02 users)
The icing on the cake
It’s nearly wild camping with a few luxuries thrown in!
- Breakfast Pastries, Barista coffee, Ice-creams
- Chilled Welsh beers and ciders
- Firepits supplied and wood for sale
- Welcome guide that works like an app with great info on local walks, places to eat etc
We have loved our trip to Graig Wen staying in a pitch and park tent pitch. We felt totally out in the wild with a large private pitch but with added luxuries like yummy pastries on order for breakfast and cold local beers for the evening. The pitches are large and really private.
Nearly wild camping Snowdonia
Our campsite near Barmouth and Dolgellau has 17 pitches in total. Pitches are really well spread out across our 40 acres of meadows and wild woods on different levels and secret corners.
You can see the location and names of the pitches on our Site Map. Regulars often request their favourite pitches and we are happy to help.
