Bell Tent
2025 – We are not currently taking bookings for the Bell Tent for 2025 as we plan to change things up a bit.
Our bell tent in Snowdonia National Park is for hire from mid July until mid September. The bell tent is suitable for adults and older children seeking an active, wild adventure. The spacious and robust bell tent is pitched in a secluded spot at the far end of the valley on our lower tent camping fields.
What’s provided?
You camp in a private area with your own camp fire and a simple outdoor camp kitchen. The canvas tent sleeps 2 – 4 people and comes kitted out with a proper double bed and mattress and two camp beds. There’s floor matting and rugs but you will need to bring your own bedding/sleeping bags. In the adjacent gazebo tent there’s a camping gas cooker, cooking utensils, cool box, wash stand and picnic table. There’s also a couple of camping chairs to use. Simple lighting and a lantern are provided. Just bring bedding, food and enjoy a very special corner of Snowdonia National Park…
There is a clean compost loo and new hot shower less than a minute’s walk away which is shared with other campers.
Secluded location
Please be aware that this pitch is secluded and you cannot drive to it. You will be parking about 400 metres from your vehicle. We are usually around to offer guests a lift from the car parking area with their kit to the bell tent if you arrive between 3 and 4.30pm. Outside of these times wheelbarrows are provided to take your stuff across the meadows.
If you prefer a little more luxury closer to the washing facilities which can park next to, then our yurts or shepherd’s hut might suit you better. PLEASE NOTE LAST CHECK IN IS 6.45PM due to the location of the bell tent. We will not accept any arrivals for the bell tent after dusk – please plan accordingly or you will be asked to arrive the next morning.
Perfect for car free holidays
The bell tent is perfect if you fancy travelling light and trying a car-free holiday. It’s easy to get to Graig Wen and get around on public transport. You can pre-order freshly baked croissants.
Dogs on leads are welcome.

“A wonderful escape in North Wales
We had a wonderful long weekend in the bell tent at Graig Wen. The tent was comfortable and felt remote and the perfect escape for a few days. The site is beholds wonderful views and is situated between mountains, forests, beaches and interesting towns with lots to do. The sourdough bread and raspberry croissants are essential and set us up for the day ahead. Everything is very eco friendly and we loved the loos with a view! Although the weather was mixed we felt warm and cosy in our tent at night. We found the comprehensive online guide of particular use and had a lovely relaxing few days. Mawwdach pizza nearby highly recommend and friendly. Hopefully we can visit again very soon!”
